Carp Specific Flies

Flies that are targeted specifically for Carp are much harder to find. However as the sport continues to grow, we expect to see more lfy shops and online retailers carrying more carp flies. So for this list of our top  carp flies, we focused on flies thar are easy to tie.


1. Carp Maul: This pattern requires 2 materials ancd can be tied in a few minutes. This fly has connected with more fish and bigger fish than any pattern on this list for those fishing our of Carp On The Fly Productoins.


2. Hybrid: This pattern is the most popular carp fly available and has been catching carpfor a long time. It is still a must have in the fly box.


3. Backstabber: This patttern, like many on this list is derrived from the incredibly efective bonefish fly the Crazy Charlie. It is a simple tie, reides hook point up, and moves along the bottom without easily hanging up.


4. Crazy Charlie: This pattern has been catchig bonefish for 50 years and is a also a great carp fly. Tie or purchase this fly in Rust, Olive, Brown and especially Black.


5. Carp Charlie: If you are seeing a theme here it is because the Crazy Charlie and its many variants make a nearly perfect platfrom for carp flies. This variant is tied with grizzly feathers and is great at attracting hungry carp.


6. Headstand: This fly, like the hybraid, is designed to sit on the bottom with the tail pointing up providing an enticing looking meal for a slowly cruising carp. It also works well for tailing carp using the drag and drop.


7. Clouser Swimming Nymph: Depending on how this fly it tied it can be fished like the hybrid or used to try and entice carp suspended or cruising near the surface. It is a great imitation of damsel flies, which are a carp favorite in the spring and summer.
